Teacher Microgrant

The Foundation offers one-time microgrants of up to $500 to teachers within SSVEC’s service area. These grants are intended to facilitate the development of innovative instructional strategies, help create new teaching materials, fund the purchase of supplies or equipment, or cover travel costs and admission fees to educational facilities.

Instructions: Please share a complete description of your project, providing as much detail as possible to convey the need, intent, and purpose. Include rationale indicating how the project supports innovation, enhances student achievement, or inspires student motivation. Finally, describe the impact this project will have on students. This abstract statement may be used to promote the project via press releases, newsletters, website highlights, social media, or other recognition efforts.(750 words max)

Agreement to Terms

I agree to allow SSVEC to highlight my program's accomplishments in print and other media.

I agree to make sure that any student represented in photos or media is allowed to be photographed and have their photograph shared on public platforms. An Image Authorization and Release Form must be signed for any photo/video subjects included in media provided to SSVEC.

I certify that my principal has reviewed and approved this grant request.

By submitting this application, if my microgrant application is approved, I agree to ONE of the following:

I agree to accept payment in my name. I understand I will be required to submit my social security number to the SSVEC Foundation and receive a 1099 form (reporting for miscellaneous income). I understand that the IRS may consider the grant personal income and therefore taxable. The SSVEC Foundation, by law, must issue you a 1099 at the end of the year. A copy of this form also goes directly to the IRS. I agree that my school or district will be the fiscal agent and the microgrant will be payable to the school or school district on my behalf. I agree to follow the supply ordering and grant receipt procedures outlined by my school and/or school district. Fiscal agents are usually non-profit organizations that can accept the funds without tax liability.

The SSVEC Foundation is not qualified to give tax advice and makes no recommendations about whether or not you should designate a fiscal agent; the choice is up to each applicant. “I hereby certify that all data and representations made in this application and its attachments are true and correct to the best of my knowledge and ability. Any grant funds received in connection with this application will be expended as described. In the event any modification needs to be made, I will seek guidance from the Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative Foundation. All funding received from this grant will be utilized within the timeframe indicated on this application.
